As an experiment rub a clean white cloth across the unwashed siding. At 46 inches in. Use a spray bottle to squirt cleaner onto the grimier spots and scrub with a soft brush. The cloth will likely come up dark gray with a layer of fine soot.

Hold the hose in one spot for about 20 seconds before moving on to another part of the siding. Clean the soap and remaining grime off the siding.
